Zubaan Publishers is offering grants for research, documentation, archiving, and publishing to young researchers from the northeastern states and eastern Himalayan region. The grants provide modest funding for creating written, multimedia, visual, and other creative content. This year’s focus is on diversifying knowledge production through gender lenses and includes topics such as personal feminist friendships, queer relationships, community histories, and broader societal issues like ecological crises and feminist resistance. Proposals emphasizing women’s, queer, feminist, and oral histories, especially from marginalised voices, will be strongly preferred. Projects can range from academic research to creative and hybrid forms, to be completed within 8 months. Selected candidates will attend a Writing and Research Methodology workshop, receive mentorship, and access a network of writers, researchers, and artists. All work will be digitally published by Zubaan Publishers.
