A Fight For Flight: Rajasthan’s State Bird Great Indian Bustard

In this article Bindu Gopal Rao talks about the critically endangered Great Indian Bustard in Rajasthan. The bird is found in a 60-km radius between Jaisalmer and Pokhran. To conserve the population various institutions like Ecology, Rural Development & Sustainability (ERDS) Foundation and Wildlife Institute of India are educating farmers about the need to conserve the species by collecting data on its movements, especially in unprotected areas.
