Tawny pipit is a relatively common winter visitor to the Chandigarh region, with an overall body length of 16 cm. This globally migratory bird travels from central Siberia to tropical Africa and the Indian subcontinent during winter. They begin to arrive in and around Chandigarh and stay until March.
