Birds Use Waste To Build Nests In A Bhopal institute

The scientists from Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal conducted a study on the effect of anthropogenic waste on the construction of birds’ nests around Bhopal. It was found that anthropogenic waste material was being used by majorly seven bird species to construct their nests with Ashy-crowned Sparrow-lark using the highest amount of waste in its nest. The scientists stressed on the need of effective urban waste management and preserving and planting native plants that can be used by birds instead of anthropogenic waste.
