Researchers from the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS), found a White-cheeked Starling among a flock of Common Starlings. while interviewing cattle grazers at Sishu Chapori in the Sadiya area under the Tinsukia district of Assam. The White-cheeked Starling is a migratory bird and flocks have been earlier recorded from Arunachal Pradesh. This sighting from Tinsukia makes it a first record from Assam.
