The Jerdon’s Babbler, a threatened grassland bird was sighted in the buffer zone of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve after 14 years. The team from The Habitats Trust spotted 4 individuals which confirmed the presence of the species in the riverine grasslands of the Himalayan rivers of the region. The Jerdon’s Babbler is threatened by habitat loss by drainage and damming of wetlands for agriculture and flood control.
