India’s iconic flagship species, including the Asian Elephant, Greater One-horned Rhinoceros, and Bengal Tiger, face habitat threats from large linear infrastructure projects crucial for national development. To address this, WWF-India, in collaboration with the Consulting Engineers Association of India, presents the Nat-Infra Talk webinar series on ‘Strengthening Natural Resource Safeguards in Linear Infrastructure Development.’ This session will discuss the policy and legal aspects of linear infrastructure, focusing on environmental, forest, and wildlife clearances during the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process. It will address the issues, challenges, and opportunities in achieving statutory compliances. Speakers include Ms. Moulika Arabhi from the Centre for Environmental Law, Dr. Biswajit Mukhopadhyay from the National Highway Authority of India, and will be introduced by Mr. R. S. Sharma, President of the Consulting Engineers Association of India.
